Drifting Away

Silently sitting
Staring
an unfocused stare
that relieves my mind
from its watch
and it has taken
leave of me
bouncing along the
surface of the past
a well skipped stone
then
Momentum spent
I begin to gently sink
calling to myself to
return to me
There are things for
which you are needed
but there is only
silence
Drifting ever deeper
My voice
unheeded
